Practice at home: box breath & grounding yoga
New YouTube video to check out. This practice is meant to help you feel a little more grounded in your being and connected to your lower body.
We’ll begin with a seated meditation and box breathing. I love box breathing to get centered and invite calm. I use a 4 count in this video but you can make it 5, 6, or 7 counts. Box breathing is a great technique if you’re trying to fall asleep. Also — a fun breath tool for kids to play with too and explore nervous system regulation. We also practice box breathing at the end of the flow, as we settle into stillness, right before we drift into meditation and rest.
The asanas we practice in this flow are:
table top
cat/cow
plank
cobra spinal flows
lunges / half splits
seated 90/90 windshield wipers
standing forward folds
seated wide leg folds
supine pigeon
happy baby
plow
35 minute sweet, slow & low yoga. Great for grounding, stretching the back body, having a moment.
