the practice: a personal promise

yoga is a practice, an invitation, a deep dedication to care personally for the body, the breath, the spirit & the spaces of you.

Welcome to my heart ♡

I believe the way we move and what we consume creates our states of being with our Self & our situations — physically, mentally, emotionally, energetically and spiritually.

In the yoga studio or wellness space, I guide people into remembering the sweet relationship between the body and breath, with the hope to experience states of presence, self-awareness, curious embodiment, and honest self-reflection.

Our movement & meditation practices can become the medicine we need in the moment, and to carry us to the next, with the tender touch of spirit and self-love.

It's hard to express the beauty you get to experience when teaching yoga.

Although that beauty is not what other people may think it is. It's not the thrill of seeing people achieve greatness with their physical abilities like challenging forearm stands or backbends. For me, the joy of teaching often arises during the final relaxation at the end of a class, when I have a felt-sense of the beauty around me. During that stillness, I often feel connected to my students in a way that transcends words. I look over them the way I would gaze at my garden and its beautiful flowers, with a sense of admiration and a feeling of responsibility and protection.

There's an aliveness in my garden that I can also feel in that quiet yoga room when everyone has let down their guard and softened into a chair or the floor, allowing the earth to hold them.

Finding Balance —

Balance comes and goes — it ebbs and flows.

I try to find balance in the present moment. I hope to find balance in my relationships. I feel finding balance is an authentic intention for me that resonates in many forms — my practice, my art, my being & my love.

Finding balance prompts me to stay true to my heart’s whispers.

My philosophy : community heals.

The individualistic, polarizing, and competitive culture in America has injured our intuition to heal ourselves, each other & our Mother Earth.

We work our body to burn out, isolate our hearts from community, struggle to prove value, and then feel alone, lost, & unfulfilled.

My hope is to cultivate safe and authentic community where I work and play, to ensure folks of all identifies feel safe and respected to experience true connection in my presence.

I acknowledge I live, work and collect resources in the Portland, Maine area. This land was historically stolen from the Wabanaki, The People of the Dawn during the colonization of New England. To remember our current reality is only the beginning of the way forward.

Love over fear.
Abundance for all.
Nature delights in diversity.
